Celtic manager explains why Jota had been struggling

Jota has had an interesting season for Celtic this time around. After a brilliant campaign while on loan from Benfica, the Hoops decided to sign him on a permanent basis. It looked like the right decision as well, as the Portuguese winger made a blistering start and was scoring and assisting for fun early.

But one has to admit that he had not been at his best in recent times. Combine that with the fact that other players had found their form going forward and Jota was no longer a nailed on starter for the Hoops for a short period of time.

There was a period of seven league games, when he neither scored nor got himself an assist. But now, Jota seems to be getting back into his groove once again and has had a hand in goal in the previous three games.

And it looks like he has not been fully fit in recent times and is only getting back to those levels. As reported by The Herald, Ange Postecoglou said on BBC Sportsound:

“Jota is getting back to fitness and the levels we know he can get to.”

Celtic boss explains why Jota has not been at his best in recent times

It is safe to say that when on top form, Jota is definitely one of the first names on the Celtic team sheet.

He had not been at that level for a short time but now seems to be getting his form back once again, and we can only hope that he continues to perform in this manner for the rest of the season.

While it is easy to forget, but one has to remember that he did pick up an injury earlier in the season.
