Celtic legend surprise candidate to be next Aberdeen manager

Celtic have continued their march towards the league title with a 2-0 win over Dundee United at the weekend. Things are not going as smoothly for most clubs in the Premiership though, and there are many who are struggling at the moment. Aberdeen fall under that category for sure and have shown Jim Goodwin the exit door after a string of bad results.

They lost 5-0 at the hands of Hearts a little over a week ago before being knocked out of the Scottish Cup by lower league, Darvel. And that was followed by a 6-0 defeat vs Hibernian. It was clear that a change was needed.

Now, the club find themselves in search of their next manager. A number of names have cropped up in the race for the Pittodrie job. We have all heard the rumours surrounding Neil Lennon and Paul Lambert. But there is another Celtic legend who could be a potential candidate.

Several media outlets have speculated that Scott Brown is amongst the candidates to be the next Aberdeen manager.

Brown does not have a lot of managerial experience and is only taking his first steps in the hot seat this season, at League One side Fleetwood Town.

He has done a decent enough job though. While Fleetwood Town might not be in a great position in the League One table, they have impressed in the FA Cup and are still in the competition, having gotten a big win over QPR along the way.

Of course, it would be a major surprise if Aberdeen went for someone like Brown over much more experienced candidates. Stranger things have happened in football though. And Broony does already have a connection with the club, having played for them as a player-coach, before hanging up his boots.
