Major details emerge about Alexandro Bernabei to Celtic transfer

It looks like Celtic are set to sign Alexandro Bernabei this summer. Left-back has been considered as an area of weakness for the Hoops for a while and with Liam Scales moving to Aberdeen on loan and Boli Bolingoli being linked with an exit for months, it would come as a surprise if the club do not add to their ranks there over the course of the summer transfer window.

Bernabei could be an excellent fit in Ange Postecoglou’s system at Celtic. He is very fast, possesses great dribbling ability, has great quality in the final third of the pitch and is an excellent presser of the ball as well. All of these qualities can prove to be essential in Angeball.

It had been believed that the club had failed with their initial offer for Bernabei but fresh reports have emerged that they are now ready to make the move happen following a second offer, that was closer to Lanus’ valuation of the player.

It looks like there will be a 10% sell on clause included in the deal though. Cesar Luis Merlo tweeted out:

Lanús is exchanging documentation for an operation that is carried out for 90% of the economic rights.

Major details emerge about Celtic’s move for Lanus left-back Bernabei

A move for Bernabei looks like a matter of time for Celtic, as rumours have emerged that the Argentine youth international has already said goodbye to his Lanus teammates.

Signing someone like Bernabei could certainly prove to be a move in the right direction for the club. He is young and has tremendous potential, although never having played in Europe, there is a certain degree of risk involved in the move as well.

Since the arrival of Postecoglou as manager, the club have shown an incredible eye for picking out players who fit into the system though and thus, expectations will be high.
