Celtic look ready to complete another transfer this summer

Celtic were incredible last season considering the circumstances. The club had finished 25 points behind the Rangers and trophyless in the 2020/21 campaign, but bounced back under the management of Ange Postecoglou, winning the Premiership and League Cup double. But the Hoops must continue to strengthen over the summer, as they have Champions League group stage football to deal with in the upcoming campaign.

The club have already made a major addition in the form of Cameron Carter-Vickers in a deal that could rise up to £10 million with add-ons after his exceptional loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur last time around.

They are also believed to be on the verge of completing a move for Jota as well, who impressed while on loan from Benfica. And now, it looks like a move for Alexandro Bernabei of Lanus might not be far away either.

Initially, Celtic had appeared to fail with the opening transfer bid for Bernabei but now, it looks like their second offer is closer to what Lanus are looking for and as result, a move might not be far away. A report from TyC Sports reads:

In the case of Alexandro Bernabei , an offer came from Scotland a few weeks ago to take the side on the left. Celtic offered a figure that was insufficient at first, however, they made a new attempt to improve the initial amount. This new offer is close to what they want in the garnet leadership and that is why everything is given for the sale to take place.

Bernabei is a 21-year-old Argentine left-back who could be a very good fit in Postecoglou’s style of football. He is rapid, has brilliant dribbling ability, quality in the final third of the pitch and is an aggressive presser of the ball.

On the other hand, left-back has been considered as an area of weakness for Celtic for a long time and as a result, they could certainly do with an addition there. The void left behind by Kieran Tierney is yet to be filled completely.

Greg Taylor has shown great signs of improvement over the past season but could certainly do with the competition that someone like Bernabei is likely to bring.
