Celtic star pictured back in training after injury absence

Celtic’s biggest problem through the course of their season were injuries. A number of their key stars ended up spending time on the sidelines and it is remarkable how well Ange Postecoglou’s side were able to navigate through so many availability hurdles, ultimately winning the Premiership title as well as the Scottish League Cup, a double that not even the fans would have seen coming at the start of the campaign.

Almost every key member of the squad picked up an injury or the other during the 2021/22 season, although things would improve quite a bit following the additions in January, which relieved a lot of the pressure, as the squad had become stretched in the first half of the campaign.

One of Celtic’s most important players this season has been Josip Juranovic, who featured to great effect at both left-back and right-back, establishing himself as a regular starter in Postecoglou’s team.

He would suffer an injury in the Scottish Cup semi-final against the Rangers though and did not feature till the end of the season. There is some great news about his current status though. Croatian star, Andrej Kramaric, posted a picture on Instagram from national team training and Juranovic was part of it.

This is a great sign for Celtic, as Juranovic is now back in training and will hopefully end up featuring for the Croatian national team as well in their upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.

Not only was Juranovic solid in the Celtic backline throughout the course of the season but he also established himself as a firm fan favourite, and on top of that, appears to be the first-choice penalty taker as well.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Juranovic made 35 appearances for Celtic across all competitions, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists as well.
