Nir Bitton enters talks to join club after leaving Celtic

Nir Bitton arrived at Celtic in 2013 and stayed at the club much longer than most fans would have ever expected, as he had an up and down time for sure. During stint at Parkhead, the Hoops were extremely successful to say the least and as a result, the Israeli international had a trophy-laden spell in Glasgow.

Although he was not always a regular starter for Celtic, he was a key member of the squad for the majority of his time at the club. Even under Ange Postecoglou, he was regularly coming off the bench to add some solidity to the team and see out games.

All good things must come to an end though and Bitton decided to bring the curtain down on his Celtic career at the end of the 2021/22 season, even though it is believed that the club wanted to extend his contract. The player was looking for a new challenge.

Now, it looks like he might be closing in on taking the next step of his career as well. As reported by Walla, the contacts for Bitton are ongoing with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
