Scott Brown’s announcement that he is retiring from the game brought an end to one of the most decorated playing careers in Scottish football history but the Celtic legend has never been one to sit still. It has been clear for a while that Broony is eyeing a career in management after hanging up his boots and it looks like he is ready to take his first steps in that direction soon.

It is believed that one of the key reasons that he had left Celtic to join Aberdeen last summer was because had been handed a player-coach role by the Dons’ then manager and Brown’s former teammate, Stephen Glass.

We all know that did not go the way that Broony would have been hoping for but now that he is retired from the game, he seems to be eyeing a spot in the managerial hot seat himself and seems to be in the running to get the job at a couple of clubs.

As reported by The Courier, Brown is set to have managerial talks with Raith Rovers and Fleetwood Town this week.

Fleetwood Town are currently in the third division or League One of English football and narrowly avoided relegation this time around. On the other hand, Raith Rovers finished 5th in the Scottish Championship.

Thus, it is safe to say that neither would be a high profile job for Brown, who had been at the very top of the Scottish game for a long time, lifting one trophy after another as the captain of a historically dominant Celtic side.

It would be a good learning experience though and it is worth remembering that he is yet to have his first stint in the managerial hot seat.

Many club legends have coached the youth teams of their former teams before moving up the ladder but it does not look like Brown will be going in that direction.
