Celtic have undergone an impressive transformation as a club since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. On the pitch, they have overcome all odds and exceeded all expectations. The Hoops are just a point away from securing the Premiership title and have already won the Scottish League Cup this season as well. Off the pitch, the signs have been just as promising.
For years, Celtic have been known for dragging things on in the transfer market and not showing any efficiency. It is this that has resulted in them missing out on some top signings over the years. That approach seems to have changed under the watch of Postecoglou though.
The signs were clear in January itself, as the club announced the triple signings of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi even before the window had opened. And now, it looks like they could secure their first signing of the summer even before the ongoing campaign ends.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic are on the verge of securing the signing of £2 million-rated Hammarby defender Mohanad Jeahze. Rumours emerged last month that Postecoglou wanted to bring the left-back to Glasgow and a deal for the 25-year-old is now close to completion.
Celtic on verge of completing deal to sign Jeahze from Hammarby
Jeahze has been one of the standout performers in the Allsvenskan this season and one of the biggest reasons behind Hammarby sitting at the top of the Swedish league after the first 7 games.
Jeahze’s numbers going forward are incredible while he has been pretty good defensively as well and many view the Iraqi international as the top left-back playing in Sweden right now.
Left-back has been viewed as an area of weakness for Celtic ever since Kieran Tierney left for Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and while Greg Taylor has improved quite a bit in recent times, he could certainly do with some competition for the starting spot. Jeahze could provide just that and more.
