Celtic star reveals what Ange Postecoglou stresses on

The very hard working nature of this Celtic side is clear to see. Ange Postecoglou has laid down some very clear principles on that and we have seen the impact of it on the club’s performances through the course of the season. Fortunately, success has followed.

At the start of this league campaign and throughout the previous season, Greg Taylor had to go through some difficult times and was subject to a lot of criticism from fans and pundits alike.

Many felt that Taylor wasn’t strong enough as a defender and equally, didn’t seem to have a good final ball when he was further up the pitch in attack. Both are very much needed in a modern day left-back, even more so in the fluid and attacking system that Postecoglou’s teams are known for.

Taylor though started to adapt quickly to the way he was being asked to play. And despite suffering a serious shoulder injury earlier on in the campaign, he has managed to return and establish his place in the starting XI.

Celtic left-back reveals what Postecoglou stresses on

As reported by the club’s official website, while speaking to Celtic TV after the 2-0 win over Ross County last weekend, Taylor said:

“You don’t play in this system if you don’t work hard and the gaffer stresses that we work hard from Monday to the day of the game.

“In the second half they put us under a wee bit more pressure. We probably got a wee bit stuck in building up but we managed to break through and get that important second goal at a key time later on.

“We work, as I touched on, from Monday to Friday to be ready for the games at the weekend. We train as hard as we can every day and try to improve every day, and we’ll continue to do that until the final whistle.”

The whole squad has been quite amazingly transformed since the arrival of Postecoglou in the summer. Individual players all have their own changes and journeys as part of all that, with Taylor a prime example in the way he is now winning fans and critics over on a weekly basis with his much more well-rounded performances.

Thus, it is certainly working for Taylor as an approach and seems to be benefitting the entire squad. Hopefully we’ll all see the reward soon as the team chases down the points needed to secure the league title over the coming weeks. There is a lot more work to be done but as we know, this side is not afraid of it.
