Celtic linked with sensational international left-back

‘We never stop’ might also be Ange Postecoglou’s mantra for building the Celtic squad. As the excitement builds over the last few league matches of the season, with the title very much in sight, we’re already seeing news surrounding potential signings in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Postecoglou has done very well in the last two transfer windows with his signings, transforming the team and taking them to the top of the Premiership table. That means fans are eagerly anticipating more transfer activity over the summer.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic are tracking Hammarby left-back, Mohanad Jeahze, a 25-year-old Iraq international, playing for the Swedish top flight club. He is rated at around £2 million.

Although Greg Taylor has been playing well recently, competition for places is always heathy and the Hoops are thin on cover at left-back. Jeahze has been attracting plenty of interest as an attacking full-back and his performances for Hammarby in their first five matches of the Swedish league have helped them reach the top of the table, having won all of their games till now.

Celtic linked with £2 million move for Jeahze

There has already been interest from other clubs in the player who has a contract running until the end of 2023. Lech Poznań in Poland are believed to have had a transfer bid turned down. But it is believed that a fee around £2 million could be enough to get a deal over the line.

That could be extremely good value for the player given his attacking abilities and style seeming very much suited to the Hoops and Postecoglou’s style of play. He already has 5 assists and a goal to his name this season, incredible for a left-back.

There will no doubt be many more rumours before the transfer window opens. Postecoglou has so far excelled with signings and hopefully he will continue to do so over the future.
