Ange Postecoglou confirms massive Celtic injury boost

Celtic suffered a massively disappointing loss at the weekend as the Rangers came from behind to get a 2-1 win against the Hoops, ending their hopes of winning a treble in Ange Postecoglou’s first season at Parkhead as a result. The double is still on for the club though, as they are in the driver’s seat in the Premiership, leading by 6 points with 5 games to go.

That is not a position most fans would have expected the club to be in coming into the season, when the belief was that they would struggle to even come close to the Rangers, having finished 25 points behind them in the previous campaign.

There are no more distractions for this Celtic side. Just 5 more league games to go and the finishing line within touching distance. They were handed a few major worries coming out of the Glasgow Derby at Hampden Park though, as there were injury concerns over several players, like Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liel Abada, Josip Juranovic and Daizen Maeda.

Postecoglou had some positive news on that front though as it looks like nobody will have to spent time on the sidelines. As reported by the Daily Record, the Celtic manager said:

“Both sets of players were pretty spent, they gave everything so I’ll see what the wash-up is.

“I don’t think it’s going to keep anyone out at the moment.”

Celtic appear to have avoid any serious injuries at Hampden Park against Rangers

It is safe to say that it was a feisty contest at Hampden Park and many have questioned Bobby Madden for not cautioning the Rangers players for their fouls on the day.

What is done is done though and it would be terrific news for Celtic if they are able to avoid any serious issue coming out of the game.

Injuries have been Celtic’s Achilles’ heel this season and they have done an admirable job navigating through it despite having key players out of action for long spells. Even at the moment, Giorgos Giakoumakis is out injured and the Hoops would be hoping to have him back available as soon as possible.
