Brendan Rodgers offers huge Leicester City chance to Celtic hero

Brendan Rodgers enjoyed tremendous success during his time as Celtic manager and it was under him that the Hoops were transformed into the Treble winning machine that would ultimately go on to win every domestic title in Scottish football for the next four years. But for all of his achievements, the manner of his exit did leave a bitter taste in the mouths of the club’s supporters.

Rodgers would leave Celtic in the middle of the season in order to join Leicester City. And as a result, he is not remembered as fondly as perhaps he should have been.

It looks like Rodgers could offer a big chance to former Celtic captain, Scott Brown, at Leicester City though, after the Scottish midfielder’s career took an unexpected turn this week and he left Aberdeen.

As reported by the Daily Record, Rodgers has invited Brown down to spend some time with him and his coaching staff at Leicester City over the coming weeks.

Interestingly, Rodgers has never made it a secret that he would like to work with Brown again someday. And that chance might have come earlier than anybody could have expected.

Brown had called time on his glorious Celtic career last summer in order to join Aberdeen in a player-coach role. The Dons were managed by his former teammate, Stephen Glass then.

Glass would be shown the exit door though in the middle of a difficult season for Aberdeen and since then, Brown has left as well, less than a year after joining.

Thus, his future is pretty much up in the air right now and it remains to be seen what the future holds. It looks like he might not have any lack of coaching opportunities though. Let’s see how things turn out.
