This Is How Ange Postecoglou Can Use Aberdeen Game To His Advantage – Former Top Flight Star

Former top flight striker Gordon Dalziel believes Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou can use the result against Aberdeen to his advantage and weed out the mistakes from his team.

Celtic went into the break with a 2-0 lead at Pittodrie but Aberdeen scored twice around the hour mark to level things up and the Bhoys needed Jota to score again to get the vital three points.

The win kept Celtic at the top of the league table with a one-point lead over Rangers, but Dalziel insisted that the result showed that the Bhoys are not going to steamroll teams on their way to the title this season.

He believes it is one result Postecoglou can use as an example for his players in order to minimise the errors going forward.

The former top-flight star stressed that Celtic need to stop conceding silly goals from set-pieces and insisted that they need to learn to kill off teams when they are on top during games.

Dalziel said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “It’s one that Postecoglou can use to his advantage because everybody is thinking Celtic are just going to turn up and steamroll teams.

“That won’t happen and I think he will be warning his players about that.

“Set-plays for instance, got to switch on [at] set-plays, they are silly goals to give away. They have got to punish teams, got to kill them off.

“If they went 3-0 up, Aberdeen were never coming back.”

Celtic will be in Scottish Cup action on Sunday when they host Raith Rovers in the fifth round at Parkhead.
