Celtic new signing’s brilliant Ange Postecoglou admission

Not too long ago, it had looked like Celtic were set to complete a move for Riley McGree. Ange Postecoglou would have known the Australian international well and had even handed him his first national team call up, when he was still a teenager. Middlesbrough are believed to have swooped in late though and the midfielder ultimately ended up at the Championship club. As a result, the Hoops had to come up with a Plan B.

It is safe to say that not many Celtic fans would have been aware of Matt O’Riley when the rumours first emerged linking the club with the midfielder, who was playing for League One side, MK Dons, at that point of time.

Everybody knows the name now though. O’Riley has been excellent ever since coming in and put in a great performance every time that he has played till now.

He has been very impressive to say the least. But it looks like the player has been impressed by Postecoglou himself. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he told BBC Sportsound:

“He’s great honestly [Postecoglou]. He doesn’t speak too much in terms of off the pitch and in the training ground. But when he does speak it’s very clear, very concise. He picks the right time to say certain things and I think he’s a top, top manager. And I’m sure everyone realises that now.”

O’Riley makes brilliant admission about the Celtic manager

Similar to O’Riley, not many Celtic fans would have heard the name of Postecoglou when the club were first linked with the manager in the summer.

Before that, a potential move to bring in Eddie Howe had fallen through and it is safe to say that there was a feeling of disappointment when that happened.

Postecoglou has come in and made the managerial hot seat his own though. He has already delivered silverware, winning the Scottish League Cup with Celtic earlier this season and has now guided them back to the top of the Premiership table as well.

Of course, there is still a long season left to be played but at this point of time, it would be an understatement to say that the Celtic fans are delighted with the manager.
