Celtic’s Josip Juranovic makes incredible Aaron Ramsey claim

Celtic will be going into the Glasgow Derby high on confidence, having cut the lead with the Rangers from six to two points in the space of just a couple of weeks. As a result, Ange Postecoglou’s side will have the chance to reach the top of the Scottish Premiership table after a long time, on Wednesday. All they need to do is get a win, which is easier said than done.

Celtic’s recent record against the Rangers is a cause for worry and it has been a long time since they beat the Ibrox side.

On top of that, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team were handed a huge confidence booster on deadline day of the January transfer window, as they completed a loan move for Aaron Ramsey.

Ramsey is one of the most high profile names to arrive in Scotland in quite a while and many believe that he can be a game changer in the title race. That does not appear to be the view of Josip Juranovic though. As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Celtic star said:

“It’s just Ramsey. It is nothing special. If you have, say, Cristiano Ronaldo in the team and the team is not going well, it’s not just one player who will change the game, you need to play all 11.

“We have really quality players here — and we need to watch ourselves.”

Celtic star makes incredible Ramsey claim

It is safe to say that at his peak, Ramsey was a brilliant player. But he has not been anywhere near as good in recent times.

On top of that, he has struggled with injury problems as well and has featured for a little over a hundred minutes of football this season till now. Thus, it will be interesting to see how he does moving forward.

And if he does not manage to adjust at Ibrox, it would not be the first time that a big name has come to Scotland in the twilight years of their career and struggled.

Celtic will not have to worry about Ramsey in the upcoming Glasgow Derby though as suggestions have been that he is not quite ready to feature for the Rangers yet.
