Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Fifa and Premier League referee insisted the Scottish FA will act quickly if the supporter is identified and the allegation is proven.

The Athletic report Livingston and Celtic are both investigating after an Associated Press journalist alleged a Celtic fan shouted racist abuse at Obileye during Livingston’s goalless draw at Celtic Park.

It is claimed the incident took place when Obileye had received treatment for an injury.

The Livingston defender was later sent off in the dying stages of the second half after he slapped the back of Kyogo Furuhashi’s head in the penalty area.

Giorgos Giakoumakis missed the subsequent penalty as the Hoops dropped two points.

After Rangers smashed Motherwell at 6-1 at Fir Park, Ange Postecoglou’s side are now six points behind their Glasgow rivals.

“Everybody’s got faith in the Scottish FA that they deal with these matters as well anybody around the world, ” Hackett told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“The Scottish FA doesn’t like it and they will deal with it.

“If they actually identify the supporter, I have no doubts that he will get a lifetime ban from the stadium.

“The authorities take these incidents with great concern now.”

They travel to Ferencvárosi in the Europa League this week before their away game against Dundee at the weekend.
