Tom Rogic injury update after Celtic win vs Hibernian

Tom Rogic suffered an injury blow just when it looked like he had become one of the most important players at Celtic once again. He was absolutely exceptional against Hibernian and most probably the best player on the pitch before he had to be substituted off just before half-time.

The Australian midfielder has featured a lot since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. And while there were questions about him and David Turnbull playing in the midfield together, the duo have managed to make it work in recent weeks and spectacularly at that.

Rogic has been playing some of his best football in a Celtic shirt recently and as a result, his injury will be a massive worry for the Hoops. One can only hope that it is a short-term problem and we will see him back on the pitch soon.

There appears to be an update on the nature of the injury. As tweeted out by Alison Conroy, Postecoglou said that Rogic had felt something in his hamstring and will be assessed.

Rogic appears to have suffered a hamstring problem in Celtic’s win vs Hibernian

Celtic have already had their fair share of injuries this season. It had appeared things were starting to improve in that regard and thus this will be an even more disappointing blow for them. One can only hope that Rogic has not picked up a long-term problem here.

It is not just the fact that Rogic has been absolutely brilliant in recent weeks but also that they do not have many options in midfield or someone who can play in a similar role.

After going on a five-game winning streak, they will be hoping that this does having an effect on the momentum that they have built up.

Celtic’s next game will be against Livingston, who have already beaten the Hoops once this season.
