3 Celtic players who should leave on loan in January

Things are starting to look up for Celtic right now with the club on four-game winning streak and with the likes of Kyogo, Callum McGregor, Josip Juranovic, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Mikey Johnston returning to the pitch recently, things might be starting to slowly but surely fall into place for Ange Postecoglou’s team.

The Celtic squad is not the deepest right now and as a result, Postecoglou has often been short of options this season due to injuries. But now, things appear to have changed a bit and with players available, the Hoops have done well.

But even when the team were going through injury troubles, there were quite a few players who struggled to break into the first-team picture.

For them, it might not be a bad idea to go out on loan in January in order to gain some much needed experience and time on the pitch, if they do not break into Postecoglou’s first-team plans by then.

With the performances that Dane Murray put in earlier in the season, it had felt like he could be set to play a huge part in this Celtic team.

It did not look like he was lacking in any experience when he featured against FC Midtjylland in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and put in a couple of performances beyond his years. Since then though, Murray has not featured.

With the competition for places very tight in both central defence and central midfield right now, it does not feel like the 18-year-old will get a lot of opportunities moving forward despite his impressive early season displays. As a result, a move away on loan in January might not be a bad idea at all.
