Ange Postecoglou gives interesting contract negotiation update

This will be a great piece of business by the club if they can get it over the line. Not only for the player but what it means in regards to the harmony Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is creating in the Hoops dressing room.

And, of course, for the progress he is making with the team, but that’s already on show for everyone to see.

There has been snipers lurking in the background with various unsubstantiated claims that Postecoglou needs to address disharmony amongst certain members of the first team.

Absolute rubbish of cours, but when journalists and pundits (who, strangely, have no experience of football in Scotland) make these baseless claims, it is important that they are  quashed, and quickly.

And with the announcement of Hoops defender Anthony Ralston’s contract extension talks currently underway, the fact that a player who has been at the club and not had a sniff of football until Ange walked in is testament to the team and bonds, Postecoglou is building at Paradise.

Speaking to the media about Ralston’s contract, Postecoglou was fairly relaxed about it, “In terms of Tony, Michael Nicholson (interim chief executive) is in charge of that area.

“My focus is trying to make sure that Anthony continues his development because he’s been fantastic.

“Contract negotiations will take care of themselves. There’s very little need to feel angst about it.

“The club has a lot of faith in Tony. That’s why they gave him a new contract before I even started here.

“I gave him a chance and you’d have to say he’s grabbed it with both hands so far.

And that calm demeanor is what has endeared the Celtic boss to the fans and players and you can see that in the pitch.

Celtic really do seem to have unearthed a gem when they signed the gaffer.
