Celtic are headed for an interesting summer transfer window. They have already won the Scottish League Cup and unless things go horribly wrong over the next few weeks, they should have enough in the tank to get past the finish line in the Premiership title race and be crowned Champions of Scotland as well.
Thus, this summer is expected to be much less frantic than the previous one, when Ange Postecoglou had to virtually build the team from scratch. But at the same time, it is clear that there are several areas where Celtic can still improve. Thus, expect some signings to be made.
One player who left the club last summer is Ryan Christie. He had made a bright start under the management of Postecoglou and looked like a brilliant fit in the system, but would end up leaving for Bournemouth.
The move raised a lot of eyebrows but Bournemouth have managed to earn promotion to the Premier League. This is good news for Celtic as well though. It was reported by Alan Nixon in The Sun [print edition, 03.10.21, pg. 61] (via The 72), that the Hoops would receive a £2 million bonus if The Cherries were promoted to the top flight of English football.

While many have wondered how Christie would have done in a full season of football under the management of Postecoglou, it must be said that Celtic have managed to do quite well even without the Scottish international.
On the other hand, Christie is expected to be happy that he made the choice to move to Bournemouth as well, as he is set for the Premier League next season.
He played a key part in Bournemouth’s campaign as well, as they are set to finish in second in the Championship. On the other hand, hopefully, the windfall will go some way in strengthening Celtic’s squad over future transfer windows.
