Celtic need to sign a striker in January. On one hand, we have seen the club struggle for goals in some games this season. When the opposition puts up a resolute defence, the Hoops do not appear to have a lot of answers other than Kyogo, Matt O’Riley or Luis Palma. On the other hand, there is the AFC Asian Cup coming up early next year as well.
Both Kyogo and Oh Hyeon-gyu could be selected by their respective national teams. If that was to happen, it would leave the Hoops without a recognised striker.
So, under ideal circumstances, Celtic would sign a striker who could come in and immediately make an impact up top. But knowing the club’s transfer policy, it is more likely that they would make a ‘project’ signing.
Mathias Kvistgaarden is someone Celtic have been linked with in recent times. He is believed to be rated at a transfer fee of around £7.5 million by Brondby and there seems to be a lot of competition for his signature as well.

As reported by Football Scotland, Celtic are back on the trail of Kvistgaarden and are ready to return with an improved offer in January. Clubs from England, Germany and France appear to be interested in the Danish youth international as well.
Kvistgaarden has not exactly been scoring goals for fun even though Brondby are the second-highest scorers in the Danish league. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists in 18 appearances this season.
