Neil Lennon wants to sign Celtic star for Omonia Nicosia

Celtic no longer need a major rebuild like they did last summer but they could certainly do with a bit of strengthening and restructuring of the squad this time around, so that they are in a better position to compete in the UEFA Champions League group stage in the upcoming season and also defend the Premiership against the Rangers.

As a result, it will be important to sign new players but at the same time, it is important that players with very little chances of breaking into Ange Postecoglou’s first-team plans are allowed to leave.

On the other hand, former Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, has found success in his post-Parkhead life at Omonia Nicosia. And it looks like he has eyes on players who might be available this summer to leave the Hoops.

As reported by Super Sport FM, Ismaila Soro is one player who Lennon appears to have in his sights. It is believed that that the Ivory Coast midfielder has been told that he is not in the plans of the manager for next season.

Lennon has eyes on struggling Celtic star

Soro was brought to the club under the management of Lennon. He struggled to break into the first-team picture under the Northern Irishman as well but would make a blistering start when he did get his chance.

But soon, his form would fade away once again and he was out of the first-team picture. Since the arrival of Postecoglou as manager, he has barely featured and as a result, a move away might be the right step for all parties involved at this point of time.

Soro is one of a number of players, who would be helped by a move away from Celtic. Some of the other names on that list are that of Vasilis Barkas, Boli Bolingoli, Albian Ajeti and a few others.
