Celtic interested in signing league-winning midfielder

Celtic’s midfield could be in need of a rebuilt this summer. After signing three midfielders in January in the form of Reo Hatate, Matt O’Riley and Yosuke Ideguchi in January, Ange Postecoglou had a wealth of options to pick the middle of the park from. That is no longer the case, with the Hoops losing two of their most experienced players in the form of Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton.

Rogic had been a regular starter since the arrival of Postecoglou as manager. One can only hope that O’Riley is able to fill the void that the Australian will be leaving behind at Parkhead.

On the other hand, while Bitton might not have been a regular starter for Celtic last season, he was indeed a key player for the club as he was one of the players that the manager relied on to bring off the bench in order to see out games. There is no ideal replacement for him at the club right now but it looks like the Hoops might have found one.

As reported by Sport 5 (via 67 Hail Hail), Celtic are showing an interest in Maccabi Haifa midfielder Mohammed Abu Fani. They are not the only ones though as Eintracht Frankfurt and Standard Liege are also keeping an eye on the Israel international star.

Celtic are interested in a move for Israel international midfielder

Abu Fani has certainly been impressive playing as an all-action midfielder for Maccabi Haifa, who are the champions of the Israeli league. Thus, he has already shown that he can be part of a league-winning team, and that pedigree could come in handy at a club like Celtic.
