Celtic need to let £7 million star leave this summer

Celtic are not expected to have as busy of a summer transfer window this time as they did the last time around. Twelve players arrived at Parkhead back then, ten on a permanent basis and two on loan. It is safe to say that it did the trick as the Hoops won a Premiership and a Scottish League Cup during the course of the campaign. But now, the squad is much more settled, and the focus has to be on strengthening instead of rebuilding.

At the same time though, the likes of Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton will need replacing, with the Celtic duo headed out of Parkhead after almost a decade at the club.

They are expected to be joined out of the exit door by the likes of Albian Ajeti, Vasilis Barkas and Boli Bolingoli, none of whom have managed to make an impact on the first-team this season. And the club must also find Christopher Jullien a new home as well.

Jullien has barely featured for Celtic since returning from injury earlier this year, making a solitary appearance for the first-team off the bench. Thus, it might be best for all parties to part ways.

Celtic must find the £7 million star a new club this summer

It is believed that Celtic shelled out a transfer fee around £7 million to sign Jullien in the summer of 2019. That made him one of the most expensive signings in the history of the club immediately.

And while once he was considered by many as the best defender at the club, that is no longer the case. Also, it must be pointed out that he has played very little football over the last two years, struggling with major injury problems.

Thus, it is very hard to see him find his way back to back being a regular starter for Celtic anytime soon.
