Rock legend celebrates Celtic title victory on stage

As Celtic celebrated winning their 10th league title in 11 years in style with a 6-0 home victory over Motherwell, their success is reverberating around the world. The Hoops have one of the biggest fan bases of any football club on the planet and it is safe to say that it was just not Glasgow that was celebrating this weekend.

Celtic have some very famous fans around the world as well. We have already seen Snoop Dogg congratulating the club on their title triumph. And then, a rock legend took the celebrations on stage.

Sir Rod Stewart is well known as a prominent Celtic fan and has supported the Hoops for almost five decades now.

The singer had already been sharing his delight at the club’s league triumph on social media and recently shared a picture of himself on stage, along with six backing girls, all dressed in Celtic jerseys on his Instagram.

Rock legend celebrates Celtic title triumph on stage in Las Vegas

As reported by the Scottish Daily Express, Stewart was at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas during this particular performance.

The singer is a regular visitor to Parkhead for Celtic’s matches and is often pictured celebrating in the crowd. He was at the recent victory over Hearts which pretty much settled the league win.

The start of his tour and gigs in Las Vegas meant he couldn’t be in Scotland for the last two games, but he wasn’t letting that stop his celebrations as Celtic sealed an unlikely Premiership triumph, just a year after finishing 25 points behind the Rangers. They also finished the campaign with 93 points, so nobody can claim that it was a lucky one.

On a different note, it is clear that the Hoops have a great worldwide support. Hopefully the club can build on that starting with the additional focus that will come from their direct entry as league winners into the Champions League group stage next season.
