Celtic legend Scott Brown wants former Rangers star as assistant manager

Scott Brown’s post-Celtic career has not gone as he would have hoped or expected. He left Parkhead last summer, after a disastrous 2020/21 campaign, to join Aberdeen in a player-coach role under the management of former teammate, Stephen Glass. Things went south pretty quickly though.

Aberdeen have not enjoyed a good campaign and decided to part ways with Glass in the middle of it. Soon, Brown would be gone from the club as well. And while no official statement has been made yet, it is believed that he has hung up his boots for good and will now be focusing on his managerial career.

He could be ready to take his first steps in that direction soon. As reported by The Courier (via 67 Hail Hail), Brown is interested in the Raith Rovers job and would look to bring in Steven Whittaker as his assistant manager.

Brown will know Whittaker well from their time together at Hibernian although it must also be pointed out that he played for Rangers for several years and is currently coaching at Dunfermline Athletic.

It remains to be seen how things unfold for Brown moving forward and whether he does end up in the Raith Rovers job or not.

No matter what his next step turns out to be though, we can only wish him the best of luck and hope that he is as successful as possible.

Rumours had cropped up recently that he could return to Celtic to coach the youth teams with the intention of moving up the ladder over time but nothing has materialised in that regard till now.

Brown has also been linked with the managerial jobs of clubs in the lower divisions of English football as well. Thus, it will be very interesting to see where the Celtic legend finally ends up.
