Celtic could complete exciting free agent signing this summer

As is the case normally, the Celtic rumour mill has picked up pace as we approach the summer transfer window. And this one could be a very interesting one for the Glasgow giants, as they have cast their net wide ever since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. The foundation was built last time around for a successful team, now it is time to go on and build on top of that.

No matter how this season ends, Celtic should be happy with how they have done domestically. But their struggles in Europe have continued, which will hurt more considering the progress that the Rangers have shown in that particular area.

One pretty interesting rumour that has surrounded Celtic in recent weeks is a potential move for Bayern Munich’s Christopher Scott. While a standout for the German club at the youth level, the 19-year-old only has a couple of senior appearances to his name. And, his current deal is believed to run out this summer.

Pete O’Rourke seems to believe that he could potentially fit the bill for Celtic and could arrive as a free agent. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said:

“It’s an interesting link, this one. Obviously, he’s a young player, only 19. He would maybe fit the bill for Celtic as he’s out of contract in the summer, so he could arrive as a free agent.

“He’s been playing for Bayern Munich’s reserves, so we don’t know too much about him, but at 19, he seems like an exciting attacker.”

Celtic have the chance to sign Scott as a free agent but there’s a twist

Scott’s current deal with Bayern Munich is believed to be running out in the summer but the Bundesliga club are rumoured to have an option to extend it by another year.

One would expect them to take them option and let him leave for a transfer fee rather than let him see walk out as a free agent.

Scott has been brilliant at the youth level for both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, and his style has been compared to that of Kai Havertz at times. With the attributes he has, he could be the perfect fit in Postecoglou’s system.

It would not be easy to sign him though as clubs from around the Bundesliga as well as the Premier League have also been linked with the Bayern Munich youngster.
