Celtic have some important few weeks coming up in the Premiership. As things stand, the Hoops are leading the title race by 6 points with 5 more league games to go. That is a strong position to be in. But at the same time, we all know how quickly things can change in football and as a result, there is no place for complacency or slowing down, especially with another Glasgow Derby to be played and the Rangers having won the previous one.

But at the same time, some eyes will already be on the summer transfer window as well. Overall, Celtic have done a wonderful job of signing players since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager and it will be very interesting to see how this team shapes up moving forward.

There could be some good news in that regard, as it looks like Celtic could be set to receive a £2 million cash boost Bournemouth close in on promotion to the Premier League.

As reported by The 72, Alan Nixon (Sun on Sunday print edition, 03.10.21, pg. 61) had revealed last year that Celtic would receive £2 million as bonus from Bournemouth if they gained promotion as part of the Ryan Christie deal.

It does feel like Bournemouth will get promotion this season. They are currently sitting at second in the Championship table, four points ahead of third, despite having played a couple of games less than them.

And as a result, if they don’t witness a collapse in the last few games of the season, they seem in a pretty good position to go up to the top flight of English football once again. That would clearly be what Celtic want as well.

When Christie had left for Bournemouth, it was viewed as a major blow for the club as he had started brilliant under the management of Postecoglou and looked like the perfect fit for this system. But since then, it has worked out for Celtic quite well, while it looks like the Scottish international is headed for the Premier League as well. Thus, all parties should be happy with how things have turned out.
