Why Ben Doak chose to leave Celtic and join Liverpool revealed

Celtic were handed a hammer blow recently as they are set to lose one of their most talented youngsters in a long time in the form of Ben Doak, who is set to complete a move to Liverpool in the future. Pictures have already emerged of the player holding a jersey of the Reds and it is only a matter of time before an official announcement is made.

Doak had already made a couple of appearances for the senior side at Celtic despite being just 16 years of age and it is safe to say that there were very high hopes that he could go on to become a part of the first-team in the future.

It is almost certain that that is not going to happen now. It will be interesting to see though whether he can make the mark at Anfield.

It looks like money was not the deciding factor for Doak. As reported by The Athletic, Jurgen Klopp’s record of putting faith in youth and developing youngsters played a pivotal part in his decision to join Liverpool. He is believed to have had a more lucrative offer from Leeds United but had his heart set on making the grade at Anfield.

Why Doak decided to join Liverpool and leave Celtic

Doak has made no secret of the fact that he grew up as a Celtic fan, but it looks like the chance to join Liverpool was too good to turn down for him.

Let’s see how things turn out for him in the future although one has to admit that he is making quite the mark at the youth levels.

He recently scored a hattrick for the Scotland under-17s side and it looks like the sky is the limit for him, if he can continue his development at Liverpool.
