Rangers suffer Alfredo Morelos blow before Celtic game

It is safe to say that Celtic and the Rangers are set to take on each other in one of the most important Glasgow Derbies in a long, long time. It has been almost a decade since the Premiership title race was this tight. As things stand, Ange Postecoglou’s side are leading the race by three points but Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side will have the chance to wipe off that lead when the two Scottish giants face each other at Ibrox.

Both teams go into the game on the back of a good run of results. Celtic have been getting the job done in the Premiership for a while now. On the other hand, the Rangers have impressed in Europe.

Without doubt, these are the two best teams in Scotland this season and it looks like the title race could go right down to the wire.

Heading into the game, the Rangers have suffered a blow though. Pipe Sierra tweeted out recently that Alfredo Morelos had a muscular overload and then, he did not take part in the Colombian national team’s game against Bolivia.

While his record against Celtic might not be anything to write home about, there is very little doubt about the fact that Morelos has been one of the Rangers’ best players this season and is an important part of their team.

Thus, if he does end up missing the game against Celtic, it would be a big blow for Van Bronckhorst’s side.

But with the game still more than a week away, it is very possible that the Colombian international would be available by then.

On the other hand, there are quite a few players at Celtic, who the Hoops will be hoping are fit enough to feature on that day as well.
