Barcelona could hand Celtic major cash boost next summer

Celtic have pulled off some tremendous transfer signings in recent times and their squad looks much stronger now than it did when Ange Postecoglou first arrived as manager. This is evident from their results this season. After a disappointing 2020/21 campaign that saw them finish trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership, they have turned things around this season.

Celtic have already lifted the Scottish League Cup, are still in the Scottish Cup and are sitting at the top of the Premiership with a three point lead over the Rangers.

That does not mean that they do not have their fair share of worries though. On the contrary, there are a number of areas where the club still need to improve. One of them is left-back. Since Kieran Tierney left in the summer of 2019, it has been a problem area for Celtic.

Speaking of the former Celtic left-back. As reported by Cule Mania, Tierney is a player who appears to be in the sights of FC Barcelona, who believe that he could be a replacement for Jordi Alba.

Barcelona could hand Celtic a major cash boost by signing Tierney

Tierney has been one of Arsenal’s standout players ever since joining the club from Celtic in the summer of 2019.

He has also been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid in recent times and it is safe to say that the Scottish international must be doing a lot of things right at the moment.

It remains to be seen how things turn out. But Celtic do have a sell on percentage involving Tierney with Arsenal.

It will be interesting to see what kind of a transfer fee it would take to sign Tierney. Arsenal did shell out a £25 million figure for his signature and it is expected that they would want to make a healthy profit on that.
