Rangers handed Aaron Ramsey worry as Celtic sit at top

Celtic went top of the Scottish Premiership following their 3-0 win over the Rangers at Parkhead. And they backed that result up with a 4-0 win over Motherwell in the following game. On the other hand, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side bounced back, with a 5-0 win over Hearts and it does feel like the title race could go right down to the wire with not much between the two Glasgow sides and very little room for error left with the gap being just being a solitary point.

Celtic face a tough away trip to face Aberdeen next while the Rangers will play host to Hibernian. These are two big games to say the least.

The Rangers have been handed a major worry ahead of the game though involving their January deadline day loan signing from Juventus, Aaron Ramsey.

Ryan Jack is confirmed to miss the game against Hibernian after picking up a problem, but Ramsey is not ready to start either. As reported by Sky Sports, Van Bronckhorst said:

“Ramsey is not quite ready to start yet.”

Rangers handed Ramsey worry as Celtic sit atop the Premiership

With Celtic sitting atop the Premiership table once again, the onus is now on the Rangers to make something happen.

And in that goal, it is safe to say that their plans will be hoping a lot from Ramsey, who was their headline grabbing signing of this season.

One has to point out though that after this set of games, there will only be 12 league games left to be played in the Premiership and Ramsey is not ready to start yet. Thus, the Welshman does not have a lot of time on his hands to make an impact.

On the other hand, Celtic have to concentrate on the task that they have on hand and win as many of the remaining games this season as possible.
