Celtic handed massive new problem for Glasgow Derby

At the end of the day, Celtic fans were delighted coming out of the game against Dundee United. The Rangers had dropped a couple of points earlier in the day after conceding in the 96th minute to get only a 3-3 draw against Ross County. For the majority of the Hoops’ game though, it had looked like they would not be able to take advantage and were set to drop two points as well if not three.

But Liel Abada was in the right place at the right time to power the ball into the Dundee United net in the 90th minute to grab a win from the jaws of a draw and reduce the gap with the Rangers to just two points.

It also means that if Celtic get a win over the Rangers on Wednesday, they will go top of the Premiership table.

Thus, things are looking up for Celtic. But they have their fair share of worries as well. And those only increased after their game against Dundee United.

Celtic handed massive new problem for the Glasgow Derby against the Rangers

Midfield is an area of worry for Celtic right now with a number of key players missing. Callum McGregor, David Turnbull and Yosuke Ideguchi are out with injury. While Tom Rogic is away on international duty.

And now, another player will be missing the big game against the Rangers, in the form of Nir Bitton, who was shown a red card against Dundee United.

Bitton has been excellent in recent times, and as a result, he will be a big miss on the pitch. But even more importantly, Celtic do not appear to have a great replacement right now.

Neither James McCarthy nor Ismaila Soro has been impressive this season. But unless something unexpected happens, one of the two is expected to start against the Rangers now.
