Rangers suffer massive blow for Glasgow Derby vs Celtic

Celtic have a lot of concerns regarding the availability of their players for the upcoming Glasgow Derby against the Rangers, set to be played at Parkhead. With Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side dropping a couple of points against Aberdeen, the gap between the top two in the Premiership table is now down to four points. And with how tight things are looking, it is safe to say that a lot will depend on the results of these games when it comes to the title race.

The Glasgow Derby was originally scheduled to be played on January 2 but has since been postponed to February 2, after the winter break was brought forward due to crowd restrictions.

It must be said though that the rescheduled game also comes with its own problems as it looks like both Celtic and the Rangers could be without a number of their key players.

Van Bronckhorst has already learned that Alfredo Morelos will not be in Glasgow at that point of time, as he has been selected by the Colombian national team. Seleccion Colombia tweeted out:

Morelos looks set to miss out vs Celtic

Now, one has to point out that while Morelos does not have a good record at all against Celtic, he is still a key player for the Rangers and they will definitely miss his presence. Colombia have matches coming up against Peru and Argentina.

Of course, Celtic have their own worries as well. While Kyogo seems set to miss out through injury, the likes of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi for Japan, Tom Rogic for Australia and Cameron Carter-Vickers for United States, could still potentially be called up.

Of course, there is the chance that the match could be postponed once again, as a team can request the postponement of a game if three or more of their players are not available due to international duty.
