Another Celtic player looks set to leave this January

Till now, Celtic’s January transfer window has been marked by arrivals. The Hoops have completed four signings already, bringing in Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Johnny Kenny. This should be a massive boost as well for the club’s plans to make a Premiership title challenge in the second half of the campaign. The Japanese trio are expected to make an immediate impact on the first-team picture while the Irish youngster is one to watch out for in the future.

But this does not mean that there have not been departures at Celtic either. Liam Shaw has joined Motherwell on loan, in what could be a great step for his development. On the other hand, Ewan Henderson has joined Hibernian on loan, although it is set to be made permanent in the summer.

Osaze Urhoghide has been linked with a loan move away as well after struggling for playing time. And now, it looks like he could be joined by another Celtic youngster out the Parkhead exit door on a temporary basis.

As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are set to send Adam Montgomery out on loan for the second half of the season.

Montgomery looks set to leave Celtic on loan this January

Montgomery had impressed early on in the season and at one point of time was playing regular first-team football for Postecoglou’s side.

But his performances have faded away since then and so have his minutes in the first-team. As a result, a move away from Parkhead might not be a bad idea for his development as a football. He should join a club on loan where he will get the chance to play regular football.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Montgomery but for now, it looks like a loan spell away from Celtic is the most likely path for the teenager.
