Exciting update on Celtic’s next January transfer priority

Celtic have made a tremendous start to their January transfer window having already completed four signings and rumours have suggested that they have agreed a deal with Charlotte FC for Australian international, Riley McGree, as well. Thus, it is safe to say that Ange Postecoglou must be delighted at the moment, having already strengthened the squad significantly. But the Hoops might not just stop there.

There are still areas that Celtic could do with more options in despite their recent signings. And while not many fans would have expected the club to make so many signings, that is exactly what they might end up doing.

There have been suggestions recently that the club are getting closer to signing Jota on a permanent basis from Benfica as well, as talks have progressed.

And as reported by Football Insider, Celtic have made it a top priority to sign two more forwards before the close of the transfer window, and are now actively looking to bring in another wide forward in addition to Jota.

Celtic’s next January transfer priority revealed

Celtic could do with another addition on the wings. There are quite a few there who have struggled with injuries.

James Forrest and Mikey Johnston have struggled to remain fit for a considerable length of time before picking up another injury for the last couple of seasons now. Jota himself has been out of action since early December. And Karamoko Dembele has not featured since pre-season, when he picked up a long-term injury.

Thus, Postecoglou would certainly be helped by another option on the wings and several players like Martin Boyle, Mehdi Ghayedi and others have been linked with a Parkhead switch recently as well. It remains to be seen though how things unfold but it is certainly looking very interesting and exciting for the Hoops.
