Celtic: Postecoglou’s 3 biggest problems after winter break

There is a lot of positivity around Celtic at the moment after how the club have started their month of January. The Hoops have already announced the signings of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi while they are believed to be getting close to a move for Sligo Rovers’ 18-year-old striker, Johnny Kenny, as well.

On the other hand, there have been some solid moves in terms of outgoings as well. Liam Shaw has joined Motherwell on loan and rumours suggested that Osaze Urhoghide could be set for a loan spell away as well.

Ewan Henderson has also left on loan, to Hibernian, but it will be made permanent in the summer. After his lack of chances this season, it is the best move for all parties involved at this stage and we can only wish him the best of luck.

While things are looking up for Celtic overall, Ange Postecoglou will have to tackle quite a few problems as well, after the winter break.

Celtic have already won the Scottish League Cup, beating Hibernian in the final. The focus should now move towards the Premiership title race though.

It is the big one for sure and the Hoops must do all that they can to return to the top of Scottish football once again as soon as possible.

As things stand, the Rangers are a comfortable 6 points ahead of Celtic. But that is not a lead that Ange Postecoglou’s side cannot overturn in the second half of the season.

There are still 18 league games to be played including 3 Glasgow Derbies. And Postecoglou’s first season in charge of Celtic could very well be defined by how well the Hoops end up doing in these games.
