Celtic agree fourth signing of January transfer window

Celtic are enjoying quite the January transfer window, having already brought in Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi. The trio are expected to add a lot to be the Hoops’ squad depth, which proved to be Ange Postecoglou’s biggest problem in the first half of the season. They still do need to make more additions though and it looks like the club are not far away from securing their fourth signing of the month.

Of course, not all signings are going to come in and make an immediate impact on the first-team. And Celtic’s next arrival might be one to watch out for in the future.

As reported by Independent.ie, Johnny Kenny is set for a move to Celtic as Sligo Rovers have agreed to a €150,000 transfer fee with possible add-ons in the future.

Kenny is very highly-rated and was heavily linked with a move to Hibernian as well, but it appears that Celtic are the ones who have come out on top in the transfer race for the exciting 18-year-old Irish striker.

Celtic have agreed move for Kenny

While Celtic were expected to get deals over the line fast this January, not many would have expected the club to move as swiftly as they have till now.

Kenny is certainly a player who can make his mark at Celtic in the future. He has already impressed a lot despite being just 18 years of age.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 12 goals and provided 3 assists in 34 appearances for Sligo Rovers. That is quite impressive for a player of his age.

Kenny would be expected to improve further as he gets more experience under his belt and Celtic could have one to watch out for in the future although it might too early for him to break into Postecoglou’s first-team picture.
