Major contract details revealed about Celtic triple deal

Celtic were always expected to make a splash in the January transfer window and many had hoped that they would get their deals done early. But even then, not many could have seen this coming. The Hoops have already announced the triple signing of Yokohama F. Marinos’ Daizen Maeda, Kawasaki Frontale’s Reo Hatate and Gamba Osaka’s Yosuke Ideguchi. This is a massive boost for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Celtic’s biggest weakness this season has been their lack of squad depth, which has been left further by the number of injuries that the players have suffered through the course of the campaign.

These three signings could go a long way in rectifying that issue. And following the success of Kyogo Furuhashi at Parkhead, Celtic fans will definitely be excited about three more players coming in from the J1 League.

And some major contract details have now emerged about all three players. As Anthony Joseph tweeted out:

Major details emerge about Celtic triple deal

Maeda is perhaps the most exciting of the three and the most ready to make an immediate impact on the Celtic first team. He topped the J1 League scoring charts this season despite not being an out and out striker. According to Transfermarkt, he scored 23 goals in 36 league appearances.

On the other hand, Hatate has also been a standout in the J1 League for quite some time now and would be expected to develop into a fantastic player for Celtic over time if not from the get go.

The most interesting is probably Ideguchi. Once considered the next big thing in Japanese football. His development stalled after a move to Leeds United did not quite work out. But there is not question about his talent or potential. And this is second chance in Europe to prove himself. Let’s see how it goes.
