Ange Postecoglou drops exciting Celtic behind the scenes update

Celtic must be quite content with the first half of their season all things considered. They were able to bring an end to their short but frustrating trophyless run, by lifting the Scottish League Cup with a 2-1 victory over Hibernian in the final. And while the Rangers do have a six point lead over them in the Premiership, the Hoops will be hoping to catch up, with 18 league games still to be played including 3 Glasgow Derbies.

The winter break has come at a decent time for Celtic, with a number of their players out injured right now. It also provides them the opportunity to bring in new signings in January and giving them some time to adjust to their new surroundings and teammates.

Many might feel that this is also a chance for Ange Postecoglou to have a breather after a whirlwind introduction to Scottish football.

The manager does not think so though, as he knows there is still a lot of work to be done. As reported by The Sunday Post, he said:

“It will involve trying to get new players in, assessing the staff, assessing the squad and seeing whether we move people in and out.

“We also need to make sure we have the right training schedule.

“So a great breather, mate!”

Postecoglou gives exciting Celtic behind the scenes update

Of course, this is brilliant news for Celtic as a whole as it is clear that they are not letting their foot off the gas, with half the season still to be played and multiple trophies to compete for.

The most important thing for Celtic right now might be to get the right signings in and get them in as early as possible.

Exciting names like Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi have been linked with Celtic in recent times and it remains to be seen if the club can get those deals over the line when the transfer window reopens next month.

One thing is for sure. Things are looking up for Celtic as they aim to catch up with the Rangers in the second half of the season.
