Celtic have made contact for Cameroon international

Celtic are a club always on the look for a good transfer deal. Sometimes they come off, sometimes they don’t. The Hoops do not have a lot of squad depth at this point of time and are expected to make a splash in the January transfer window. The club have already been linked with several exciting names like Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and a few others, and it remains to be seen how things turn out.

But that does not mean that they won’t have eyes on moves further down the future. As things stand, this squad needs work over multiple transfer windows.

One player that they could sign next summer on a free transfer is Dundee United’s Jeando Fuchs. His current deal with the Premiership club is believed to run out at the end of the season. And it looks like there is some heavy interest in his signature.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Cameroon international told Foot Mercato:

“There has been contact with Blackpool, Peterborough and Wigan. Stuttgart have taken information since the summer.

“There has been from Celtic and Rangers as well, but nothing more. A Premier League club as well. England would be good.”

Celtic appear to have made contact for Fuchs

Fuchs has impressed with his performances in Scotland and it appears that he has caught the eye of not just the Glasgow giants but clubs around Europe. Thus, it will be interesting to see how things turn out.

Defensive midfield is one area that Celtic could do with more options in though. They currently have Ismaila Soro, James McCarthy and Nir Bitton capable of playing in that role but other than the Israeli international, nobody has impressed there since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou.

Fuchs already has experience of playing in Scotland and is expected to be available on a free transfer next summer. Thus, it is not hard to see why there is interest in his signature. Whether the Hoops do end up making a move or not remains to be seen.
