Celtic star’s injury timeline revealed by Ange Postecoglou

Celtic might have gotten a big win against Hearts at Parkhead through a goal from Kyogo Furuhashi, but things are not looking too good for Ange Postecoglou’s side. The Hoops suffered three injuries on the night as Jota, Anthony Ralston and Stephen Welsh were all forced off the pitch. And they had several injury problems before that as well. Thus, it is safe to say that things the next few weeks could be rough for the Hoops.

It is no secret that Celtic do not have a lot of depth in their squad at this point of time. And December is arguably the busiest period of the footballing calendar.

Thus, Postecoglou has very few options to pick from moving forward and any further injuries will put Celtic in serious trouble, if they are not already in it.

One of the players who has been in and out of the team since arriving in the summer is Giorgos Giakoumakis, who has struggled with both fitness and form. And as tweeted out by The Go Radio Football Show, the striker is still two or three weeks away according to Postecoglou after the Hearts game.

Giakoumakis still weeks away from Celtic return

When Celtic signed Giakoumakis in the summer, there were a lot of expectations around the striker. After all, he had topped the scoring charts in Eredivisie last season and by quite some distance.

He has not got it going since arriving at Celtic though and only has one goal to his name till now. But even then, he provided Postecoglou with an option to bring off the bench.

With Giakoumakis out of action, Postecoglou only has Albian Ajeti, who is being linked with a January exit, to rely on as a backup striker to Kyogo.

The next few weeks are going to be tough for Celtic and could possibly make or break their season.
