Two new names being linked with Celtic transfer moves

This January transfer window promises to be one of the most exciting in Celtic’s recent history. While Ange Postecoglou’s side have done a brilliant job in recent times, the fact remains that they do not have a deep squad. As a result, a few injuries here and there could land them in trouble, like it did earlier in the season when both Kyogo and Callum McGregor were on the sidelines at the same time.

As a result, Celtic are expected to make a few moves in order to strengthen Postecoglou’s squad in January, as they will be hoping to mount a Premiership title challenge this time around.

There are several positions in the squad which could do with a bit of strengthening to be honest. Two of them are central midfield and striker.

As tweeted out by Celtic Underground, an account which has over 70,000 followers on Twitter, the club are apparently looking at Patrick Berg and Kasper Junker:

Celtic are apparently looking at Berg and Junker once again

Celtic have been linked with both players in the past but neither of them in recent times. Both could prove to be excellent signings though if the club did decide to make a move.

Berg has been brilliant for Bodo/Glimt for quite some time now and still at 24 years of age, he is only expected to get better moving forward. An addition like him could be huge for Celtic in the middle of the park.

On the other hand, while Junker might not have been a prolific goalscorer for the first several years of his career, he has found some terrific form in recent seasons. He scored more than a goal a game for Bodo/Glimt last season and has done very well for Urawa Red Diamonds this time around, scoring 16 goals in 29 appearances according to stats from Transfermarkt.
