Journalist reveals Celtic’s exciting January transfer plans

Celtic have built up serious momentum in recent weeks and it looks like things might get even better for them in the near future. Not only do they have a brilliant chance to move up the Premiership table as the Rangers find themselves without a manager following Steven Gerrard’s sudden exit. But it appears that Ange Postecoglou’s side have some exciting January transfer plans as well.

Now, Celtic were always expected to make additions in January transfer window, with Ange Postecoglou as manager. At that point of time, the J1 League season will be over and thus, it will be much easier to sign players than it was in the summer.

And it looks like Celtic could be looking to be much more efficient in this January transfer window, than they have been in the past.

While speaking on the The PLZ Football Show and as reported by Read Celtic, journalist Peter Martin said:

“Now Ange Postecoglou has thrown down the gauntlet. Celtic will sign players in January and the word from inside Celtic is he wants them at the start of January. It’s not the old regime of Peter Lawwell waiting to the last day of the transfer window. I see a change in the way they are going about their business.”

Celtic have a huge opportunity to strengthen their squad over the January transfer window

Postecoglou has done a tremendous job till now with the cards that he has been dealt. But that does not mean that he has been great good cards.

Despite the decent run of form, Celtic are in a tough spot at the moment. They do not have great squad depth at this point of time. As a result, a few injuries could end up having a huge impact on their season.

We have already seen the team struggle badly in the absence of Kyogo and Callum McGregor through injuries earlier on in the campaign and they must be keen not to have a repeat of that any time soon.

Some solid additions to the squad in the January transfer window could solve that problem for the Hoops though. And the recent update regarding the matter is certainly very exciting.
