Celtic star had to go to the hospital with an eye injury

The game against Hibernian was a positive one for Celtic considering the result. It was the Hoops’ third straight win away from home and took them up to second in the Premiership table, just two points behind the Rangers. But there were some worries coming out of the game as well. Tom Rogic suffered a hamstring injury while another star picked up an injury to his eye.

It is safe to say that Celtic have not had the greatest luck when it comes to injuries in recent times and we saw them struggle badly last month when players like Kyogo and Callum McGregor were out of action.

It goes without saying that they will be keen to avoid something similar moving forward. And in that regard, there is a little bit of positive news.

Josip Juranovic was caught by a stray hand during the game against Hibernian and it turns out that he had to go the hospital regarding. Thankfully though, the injury is not serious. While speaking at the media conference on Celtic’s Official YouTube channel and as reported by 67 Hail Hail, Ange Postecoglou said:

“Josip Juranovic ended up going to the hospital. It was a pretty significant injury to his eye.

“Thankfully for him, it’s not serious. He’s rebounded really well and he’s had it looked at. He’ll be available for the game tomorrow [vs Livingston].”

Juranovic suffered an injury to his eye in Celtic’s win against Hibernian

It is great to see that Juranovic is fine and has not picked up any serious injury. He has already picked up an injury this season since arriving at Celtic over the summer and had to spend time on the sidelines.

Thus, it is expected that he would be keen to get a good run of games and establish his place in the Celtic first-team.

Interestingly, he could possibly end up playing at left-back for the time being with Anthony Ralston doing brilliantly at right-back and there being a lack of a first-choice left-back at the club right now. And to be honest, the Croatian has done a decent job while playing there although his stronger position is on the other side of the pitch.
