Rangers fans meltdown over decision as Celtic handed huge chance

It has not been a great week for the Rangers, as they first were handed a defeat by Celtic at Ibrox, to go 6 points behind in the Premiership title race with just 6 league games left to be played and then they lost the first leg of their Europa League tie against SC Braga 1-0. As a result, a lot of questions are being asked about Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his long-term future at the club.

Of course, this is all a boost for Celtic, as the result against SC Braga prevents the Rangers from building any momentum, while at the same time, the tie is still not over.

The latest questions that Rangers fans have raised are surrounding the manager’s decision to leave Aaron Ramsey on the bench for the entirety of the game against SC Braga, despite the fact that he was declared fit.

While Van Bronckhorst’s appointment might have been met with celebration, some months on and it is a different picture altogether. Rangers fans were active on Twitter about the matter to say the least:

Rangers fans in meltdown over decision as Celtic handed big opportunity

Things do not appear to be going the Rangers’ way at the moment. But the 1-0 defeat means that there is a possibility that they could already have an eye on the upcoming second leg against SC Braga. Could that potentially lead to a slip up in the league?

For Celtic, this is a big opportunity to possibility even extend the lead at the top of the Premiership this weekend, if results go their way.

Of course, Celtic have a tricky game themselves. St Johnstone have found some form recently, having won two straight and they have not lost in their last three. Thus, the Hoops might need to be at the top of their games against Callum Davidson’s side, who won the Cup double in the previous season.
