€20 million Celtic target confirms he wants summer move

Celtic have been linked with plenty of high profile names in recent times, as it is believed that the club could be targeting a few marquee signings in the ongoing summer transfer window. It remains to be seen how things play out. The likes of Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek, Kieran Tierney and a few others have been linked with a switch to Parkhead.

Another name that has been doing the rounds of the rumour mill lately is that of Tete. The Brazilian winger has already played under the management of Brendan Rodgers as he spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester City.

Tete made a good start to life in the Premier League but would lose his form soon. He was not helped by the fact that Rodgers was shown the exit door by Leicester City in the middle of the season.

Tete has been linked with a move to Celtic recently. And he has made it clear that he wants to leave Shakhtar Donetsk this summer due to the unfortunate circumstances.

€20 million Celtic target confirms he wants to summer move

As reported by the Daily Record, Tete said:

“Shakhtar became the first serious club in my career and gave me a lot. I will always love this team. But I can no longer stay here. I hope the fans understand my point of view.

“There are clubs that are interested in me. My agent is already negotiating with the management of Shakhtar about my contract.”

Tete is a superb talent. Not only has he shined for Shakhtar Donetsk in the past but he was great while on loan at Lyon as well. Thus, it should come as no surprise that he is believed to have a transfer value of around €20 million.

Shakhtar Donetsk are not expected to get a figure anywhere close to that though. Tete’s current deal runs out at the end of the year.

It is even possible that he could leave for nothing this summer, if Shakhtar and his agents are able to reach such an agreement. Celtic must surely keep an eye on the Brazilian winger’s situation.
