English club agree transfer fee to sign Celtic player

Celtic have already seen one player leave the club in the form of Jota, as the Portuguese winger has ended up joining Al-Ittihad. The Hoops are set to bring in a huge transfer fee due to that move, but at the same time, they have lost a very important member of the starting XI as well. And now, it looks like another one of their players is headed out of the exit door, although in his case, starts have been rare over the years.

There was very little to cheer about for Celtic in the 2020/21 campaign. They did win the Scottish Cup from the previous season, which had been postponed.

The hero in the final of that competition was Conor Hazard. And many felt that he had done enough to become the first-choice goalkeeper for the Hoops, with both Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain struggling at that point of time.

Hazard would quickly lose his place in the starting XI despite his heroics on the day Celtic completed the Quadruple Treble. And now, it looks like his time at the club might be coming to a close for good.

English club agree transfer fee to sign Celtic player

As reported by the Daily Record, Plymouth Argyle are closing in on a deal to sign Hazard. The English Championship club have agreed a fee, as well as future add-ons, with Celtic.

Hazard’s time as a Celtic player has been a curious one to say the least. He was solid when given his chances in the 2020/21 campaign. And he has been very impressive on loan spells away too.

Yet, it has never really converted to a run in the Celtic first-team, despite their struggles at finding a long-term goalkeeper for several years now. Many would argue that Hazard deserved more chances than he got at Parkhead.
