Celtic have already completed a couple of signings in the ongoing summer transfer window, bringing in Odin Thiago Holm from Valerenga and Marco Tilio from Melbourne City FC. With Jota heading in the opposite direction, the fans will be hoping for a marquee replacement to the Portuguese winger. But for the time being, it looks like the Hoops are concentrating on ‘project’ signings.
One player that they have been linked with quite heavily this summer is South Korean youth international, Yang Hyun-jun. But there have been suggestions that Gangwon FC do not want to part ways with him at this stage of the season.
Gangwon FC are near the bottom of the K-League table, who in the middle of their season right now. As a result, it is not hard to understand why they might not be keen on the idea of Yang leaving.
But as tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Yang has been locked in talks with club chiefs today, as he looks to engineer a move to Parkhead. The 21-year-old has not been happy with his club’s reluctance to part ways with him this summer. It is expected that Gangwon FC will now reassess Celtic’s offer.
Sky Sports man offers superb Celtic transfer update
Yang looks like quite the talent to be honest. He has pace and the ability to get past his man, as well as the penchant for pulling off something out of the ordinary.
In some ways, he is similar to someone like Jota. As a result, it should not come as a surprise that Celtic are being linked with him for a while now.
And all the signs seem to be starting to point towards a move to Celtic Park for Yang. Of course, nothing is certain, but things seem to be moving in a positive direction.
