Arsenal linked with player in summer boost for Celtic

Celtic have been handed a blow lately, with Jota leaving the club in order to join Al-Ittihad. The Portuguese winger had been a key player for the Hoops for the past couple of seasons, so the squad has certainly been weakened. At the same time though, the transfer fee is believed to be around €30 million, which is a boost for the Glasgow giants.

And they could be handed another cash boost this summer, with the future of Jeremie Frimpong up in the air. Celtic are believed to have a sell-on clause with Bayer Leverkusen for the Dutch player, who left in early 2021.

Manchester United and Real Madrid have both been linked with Frimpong in recent times. And now, it looks like Arsenal have entered the race to sign him as well.

As reported by Sport BILD, in order to further improve Mikel Arteta’s squad, one candidate is Frimpong. Arsenal already have Ben White at right-back. For an alternative, the London club are said to be willing to shell out up to €40 million for a player with potential.

Frimpong arrived at Celtic as a teenager from the Manchester City youth ranks and expectations were not very high from him. The Dutchman quickly established himself in the starting XI at Parkhead though and has not looked back since then.

He has been a standout performer in Germany as well. And now, it looks like he is set to land himself a massive move this summer.

Considering the fact that Frimpong is being linked with clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid, it is pretty clear that he is one of the highest young players n world football today. Now, it remains to be seen where he ends up, if he does indeed leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
